ListWise
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
ListWise (“we”), operated by Sotto Apps, is a shopping list app built to keep your data on your device. This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes.
Data stored on your device
All of the following stays on your iPhone or iPad and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:
- Personal shopping lists, saved lists, templates, and shopping history
- Budget entries, payment method labels, and receipts you scan
- Your preferences and app settings
If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Household sharing (optional)
If you set up household sharing, lists you mark as shared are stored in your own Apple iCloud account (CloudKit) and synced to the household members you invite. This data travels through Apple’s iCloud service under your Apple Account; we — the developer — cannot read it. Names and email addresses of household members you add are included in that shared data so assignments show the right names on everyone’s phone. Invites are delivered as iCloud sharing links; the email address you pick is used by Apple to verify the invitee. You can stop sharing, leave a household, or make any list personal at any time, which removes it from iCloud sync.
Voice input
Voice capture uses Apple’s speech recognition. Transcription runs on-device whenever your device supports it. Audio is not recorded, stored, or sent to us.
Camera and photos
Receipt and list scanning happens on-device using Apple’s Vision framework. Images you scan are processed locally and are not uploaded.
Contacts
If you choose to add household members from your address book, ListWise reads the names and email addresses you select. Contacts you don’t pick are never read or stored. Selected names and emails are only used for household planning and — if you invite that person — for Apple’s iCloud sharing invite, as described above.
Community pricing (optional)
If you turn on “Share anonymized prices,” the app contributes price points (item name, store brand, store ZIP code, price, and date) to a shared Apple iCloud (CloudKit) public database so that you and other users can see local price trends. This is off by default and enabling receipt estimates never turns it on for you. These contributions:
- contain no names, emails, account identifiers, or device identifiers
- are keyed by a coarse region hash, not your precise location
- can be disabled at any time in Settings → Community Pricing
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.
Diagnostics
Crash and performance diagnostics provided by Apple’s MetricKit are written to the on-device system log only. Nothing is sent to us.
Tracking
ListWise does not track you, does not show ads, does not use third-party analytics, and does not sell data.
